Primary Skills Tutoring was created from my passion for helping learners who need extra support to thrive. With over 20 years of teaching experience and specialist training in evidence-based approaches like Orton-Gillingham (supporting students with dyslexia and dysgraphia) and Extending Mathematical Understanding (supporting students with dyscalculia), I use current research and best practice to ensure my students learn and experience success that feels achievable.
I am known form my calm and gentle manner which I use to support children to develop their confidence and skills in their areas of difficulty whether that be reading, spelling, writing or maths. I design structured, achievable lessons that meet students at their point of need and celebrate progress along the way.

Meet the team
Sally (left) and Rusty (right) are very much part of the team at Primary Skills Tutoring. Sally is an old girl now, but loves children and will always come to greet students at the door. Rusty is pretty much my shadow and will attend every tutoring session, keeping a close eye on how the students are progressing. Although excitable when they meet new people, they quickly settle after a pat, and sleep and snore in the tutoring room. The dogs have the added benefit of calming students and helping them to settle into the space, which supports their learning.
